Karo Agenda 2025

Edition Nr. 31 — Happy 100th Birthday, Jeannot!

Jean Tinguely was a Swiss artist best known for his Métamatics kinetic sculptures. His machines carried the Dada tradition into the later part of the twentieth century, often poking fun at automation and the technological overproduction of material goods.

Celebrating Jeannot’s 100th birthday, the 2025 Karo Diary features some photos of his Métamatics, including the handsome Gartenzwerg (garden gnome), which is positioned at the front of ‘Klamauk’, a drivable, noise-making, smoking, stinking, firecracker-exploding tractor. Fortunately, there are no firecrackers and smoke bombs allowed in the Museum Tinguely today, the home of this and many other unique contraptions.

With a long tradition of user-friendly diaries, we created the Karo Diary with clean lines and generous space for entries, notes and doodling — printed on our favorite Munken Premium Cream (90 gm² and 1.75 bulk) uncoated paper stock. The 2025 edition is currently at the printer’s and will be available in early November, either directly from us or in one of our favourite local bookshops, including the Papiermühle, Palermo, Bider+Tanner and Ganzoni.

Karo Agenda 2025: Happy 100th Birthday, Jeannot! 148 x 180 mm, 112 pp., hardcover, in English and German. CHF 44 plus shipping.
